Ing. arch. Pavel Horák
Since my studies at the Prague School of Architecture, I have been inspired by high-tech architecture while seeking a material with a low environmental impact. After gaining substantial international experience and inspiration, I ultimately found my focus in wood—a material I have been working with for over twenty years.
I am the co-founder and co-owner of the Prodesi/Domesi studio, where I remain actively involved today. Our studio specializes in designing family homes and bespoke projects made from wood across various typologies. As large-scale timber projects began to gain momentum, my professional journey naturally led me to Timarr, where my colleagues and I are now focused on this emerging sector.
What excites me about wood is its unique ability to combine modern technology with renewable materials. My ongoing challenge and passion lie in exploring the limits of wooden buildings and structures, continuously pushing the boundaries of timber architecture. There is still so much to discover and innovate in this field.
Ing. arch. Jan Suchý
In 2023, I completed my Master’s degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University (CTU). During my studies, I developed a keen interest in sustainable architecture, which ultimately led me to explore timber construction.
Over the last three years of my studies, I focused on designing timber buildings with low energy consumption, ranging from family homes to student accommodations and senior housing.
Timber, alongside concrete and steel, plays a vital role in large-scale construction. Now that I have completed my studies, I am continuing to design timber buildings.
By showcasing functional designs combined with wood’s numerous advantages, I aim to help reposition timber from being seen as an alternative material back into the mainstream.
Ing. Anna Krejčí
After studying Law and Economics at the University of Economics in Prague, I spent several years working in the client services department of advertising agencies. I have always enjoyed managing client relationships, understanding their needs, and delivering the best possible outcomes for our company.
I take great satisfaction in overseeing a project from inception to successful completion, ensuring it stays on track while respecting key design, time, and budget constraints. I also pride myself on bringing fresh perspectives, helping clients and projects overcome obstacles, and finding innovative solutions.
While I gained valuable experience managing large international clients across the CEE region, I felt a strong determination to make a more meaningful impact on the environment and society.
I found this purpose in wood and its application in modern timber construction. As a renewable resource, wood offers remarkable benefits to the construction industry, along with its positive effects on mental well-being and health.
Today, I use my experience to raise awareness of the advantages of timber building and work towards setting international standards for their use in the Czech Republic. I firmly believe that wood is the material of the future and that open communication is essential for success.
